The Equipment that Enables

Equipment that makes that creates opportunities.

Buying equipment can be such a tough and crucial decision. It's hard to know where to start and which brands can be trusted. Take a look at what's inside my camera bag.

TWO CANON R5s

Why the R5

The R5 has several qualities making it my favorite option. The 8,192 x 5,464 resolution files weight in, on average, at about 60MB each. This means every photo can be printed on a giant 40 x 60 canvas and still have amazing detail up close. Canon's colors are great to skins, lacking the slight green tint Sony adds. The autofocus technology make every image sharp, whether I'm shooting a couple walking down the Isle, or a quick ballerina on stage.

The EOS R5 breaks the gap between photo and video. These cameras shoot everything from Full-HD to 8k-D. Wedding videos drop jaws with the 120fps setting that allows me to slow down my footage to 1/4th real time, and not loose any visible frames.

When recommending cameras, I do speak very highly of Sony Cameras. They handle low light better than any camera on the market and are not crowding out 3rd company manufacturers as Canon has begun to do.

Why I have 2

When I'm shooting videography, my second camera goes on a tripod and allows me to have two camera angels at all time. For photography, I attach both camera's to my moneymaker and then have quick access to a camera with different lens.

My favorite lens of all time, the 70-200, is as amazing as it looks. Seeing that the most flattering focal length to capture the human face is 85-mm (on a full-frame), the 70-200 is a must have when shooting portraits.

It is UNACCEPTABLE to have photographers in the isle during ceremonies. This zoom lens allows me to capture the first kiss in close up detail, without physically blocking guests' view. The internal stabilization further enables smooth video and and 2.8 aperture minimizes grain when shooting indoors.

50 mm.png

Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM

When shooting wedding videos, this lens is on my gimbal camera 95% of the time. The small light weight lens makes it possible to use a Ronin-SC and save my arms from carrying tons of weight for hours straight. This F1.8 aperture brings tons of light and bokeh to my images. The 50mm focal length gives me the ability to easily show detail shots, as well as full picture shots.

Canon RF 16mm F2.8 STM

My Real Estate Photography Lens! Not only is this the near exact size as my 50 mm, they both share a thread length, allowing me to swap out filters. The 16mm allows me to capture a whole room and make it look spacious, while not being too wide as to be deceiving.

When shooting videography for a property, the light and small 16mm is easy for my Ronin-SC gimbal to handle, and can then be quickly switched out with my 50mm to shoot details, i.e. faucets, and views.

Must have for shooting details, i.e. rings. This 35 is also great for shooting bigger groups when I don't have time to step back, This could be in tight spaces, i.e. a proposal at the top of the Eiffel Tower, or shooting family pictures with a fountain behind me.

2-Light and Motion Reflex S

These lights are some of the first to be continuous AND have a flash setting. Out of just the battery handle alone, these light shine up to 6,000 lumens in Continuous Mode and 12,000 in Burst Mode. I have two optics for each light, often opting for the medium width.
